SIG Sauer’s V-Crown JHP has earned a reputation as one of the most reliably performing self-defense rounds available. They feed consistently and have repeatable accuracy and expansion. They have a muzzle velocity of 1,165 FPS with 374 ft/lbs of energy.

The Speer Lawman TMJ (total metal jacket) is an excellent indoor range shooting round. They shoot cleaner thanks to a totally encapsulated projectile, limiting lead exposure. The Speer Lawman has a muzzle velocity of 1,090 FPS with 327 ft/lbs of energy.

The Remington Golden Saber +P has earned an excellent reputation as a self-defense round. It has a muzzle velocity of 1,125 FPS with 348 ft/lbs of energy. These are increased-pressure rounds. Most modern firearms shoot +P without issue, but check your owner’s manual first.

The Blazer Brass FMJ is an excellent option for high-volume shooting. They have a velocity of 950 FPS with 295 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle.
