The 760 Pumpmaster is what all the other multi-pump pneumatics want to be! In production for decades, over 10 million have been sold. It shoots BBs or .177 pellets and does so with power and accuracy.
At less than 3 lbs., it's a great starter air rifle. The stock and forearm are made of a durable synthetic that takes lots of use and still looks good. An economical rifle, the Pumpmaster takes 3 to 10 pumps to send BBs up to 625 fps and pellets up to 600 fps. The checkering on the grip and the indentations on the pump handle make it that much easier to get a grip and stay on target.
Ideal for plinking and target shooting. (Never shoot BBs at metal objects!) It's so light that you can shoot all day! Suitable for younger shooters (with adult supervision) and smaller adults.
Pellets are loaded one at a time, while BBs have an 18-shot magazine, which is fed from the 200-shot reservoir. It comes with a fixed front sight, but you can get even more accuracy by mounting a scope or red dot on the 11mm dovetail.

Power and style in a rifle a young child can hold comfortably and is a welcome addition to my Pyraymydair collection.
Things I Would Have ChangedDeliver a physical catalog in the mail.
What Others Should KnowPyramydair delivers a quality product in a timely manner.
Comfortable, compact and easy to operate !
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing !
What Others Should KnowBest product, best prices, and service !
Reasonably strong BB / pellet rifle. Steel barrel with fiber optic front sight. Large on board BB storage.
Things I Would Have ChangedLess plastic. I understand that to meet the price point of 35 dollars corners must be cut, but I would be glad to pay twice that for a little more metal inside and out. I'm not a fan of plastic stocks and forearms.
What Others Should KnowAll in all a good low cost .177 air gun.
Don't expect a early 70's CROSMAN.
Tiene buen alcance y gran capacidad de carga
Things I Would Have ChangedQue incluyera una mira telescpica
What Others Should KnowEl rifle tira mas fuerte de lo que imaginas
Large magazine for BB's Easy to chamber BB. Pump isn't too bad. Looks nice
Things I Would Have ChangedMake it signiificantly more accurate. Shot pattern at 15 feet was terrrible so bad the rifle is 100% unpleasant to use for anything but a ornament. 1 foot left to right and over 2 feet vertical dispersion.
What Others Should KnowContact Crosman to gain full knowledge about warranty if you get a scattergun lemon like I did.
it works because I like the option of pellets or BB's
Things I Would Have Changeda little broader pump handle
What Others Should Knowthe cocking mechanism tends to stick at times when trying to push a pellet or BB in.
This is a classic, well-constructed and inexpensive plinking/target shooting air rifle made here in the USA. I wanted a backyard friendly plinking rifle. This is my main reason for buying this model.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe trigger is a little stiff, but not unmanageable. This rifle could use a wooden stock.
What Others Should KnowI have owned several of these over the years. It was the, rifle that I used to teach my sons how to shoot. When we moved from SC I ended up selling or giving away most of my air gun collection, including my 760 Pumpmasters. We recently purchased a new home with a private backyard and I wanted a backyard friendly plinker that I could use without disturbing my neighbors. The Crosman 760 Pumpmaster fills that need.
Out of the box the accuracy and power of this gun is good. I can obtain 1.75” ctc groups at 10 meters using Crosman 5.1 gr Copperhead BBs, 1” ctc groups at 10 meters using Crosman 7.9 gr Destroyer pellets, and 1.25” ctc groups using 8.64 gr Beeman Silver Sting pellets. I consider these to be good groupings from a smoothbore rifle.
As far as power ratings I get the following average velocities and energies:
• 653.8 fps and 4.8 fpe using the Copperhead BBs,
• 594.7 fps and 6.2 fpe using the Crosman Destroyer pellets, and
• 586.8 fps and 6.6 fpe using the Beeman Silver Sting pellets.
Both pellets and BBs easily penetrate completely through a tin soup can at 10 meters.
The buckhorn sight that came with the gun is more than adequate for informal targets shooting and plinking, but I plan on painting the front blade sight a fluorescent orange to make it standout better on dark targets.
Shoots straight. Hold a charge. Light weight.
Things I Would Have ChangedMake an option for a bigger pump handle. This is very hard to use this action with my big hands. The gun likes to pinch.
What Others Should KnowHaving problems with the cocking mechanism. At times it is very hard to pull it back all the way, it may just be my gun. Also I find the pump handle a little flimsy.
The 760 pumpmaster is one of the all time most iconic air rifles ever. I started shooting all together with a 760 in the late 90s and shot them all through the early 2000s. When my wife showed interest in air rifles this year I pointed her to this new variation of the 760 and it made her fall in love with the sport. Remarkably accurate for a smooth bore gun with BB or pellets it is a blast to shoot. It makes a perfect rifle to start a child with and is an excellent choice for an adult looking for a cheap carbine. I personally love this current iteration as a walking gun for picking off starlings and other game birds at close range. It is my hope that someday my daughter will start their child off with a 760 also.
Things I Would Have ChangedI mean a rifled barrel to brings it up to spec with is brother the crosman m4-177 would be nice but it is great otherwise.
What Others Should KnowUnlike the last variation this one does not use the 5 round pellet clip. Currently though it appears the 764SB variant of the 760 still does.

I had one of these as a kid and it worked for a long time. In that time I was able to dispatch a large number of pests. I purchased this new model for my son as a birthday gift. It shot harder than my old one, but is also much harder to pump. On the old model you could grab the receiver to and pump from there, with the new extended pump arm you could do this but risk catching your fingers in there. It was reasonably accurate.
Things I Would Have ChangedStock broke off on the first day of use after maybe 100 rounds and only pumping it 2x per round. Tried to pump it three times and the stock retaining rings inside the receiver gave way and the the stock just fell off and dumped all the BBs. My son was very disappointed as am I. Crosman has chosen to make a classic that a lot of kids grew up with into a cheaply made air rifle that breaks easily.
What Others Should KnowThe stock felt kinda flimsy out of the box. But so did the others that kids were shooting so I did not worry about it. But it did break. There was another newer 760 there that has been used for the last few weeks by another kid and his is not broken. Maybe I got a bad one. But this is the last 760 I will likely buy.
