Other than the reasonably economical selling price, some of the things I like about this riser are: the mount is nicely machined out of heavy aluminum and steel and the length is long enough to accomodate most scopes. The thumb locking screws are large and make it easy to tighten and remove the mount if you need to use the iron sights. I have not mounted it to my SOCOM M24 as of yet since I am still in the process of camouflaging the rifle with a desert pattern. I did try it however using my large bell scope and the belll clear the barrel very nicely.
