At worst, the impact from an Air Soft BB at close range on unprotected skin could leave a bruise or cause a small cut.

In general, players participating in Air Soft skirmishes elect to wear protective clothing. Protective goggles are essential for even the most daring players as a BB to the eye can cause severe damage. Military BDUs (battle dress uniforms) also work well for their added thickness. Although players can still feel the impact of a BB (which is how they know if they've been eliminated from the game), the protection reduces the risk of injury.
